Life's a beach when you come to the Carolinas. Sunbathe on the beaches of North Carolina's outer banks, build sandcastles with the kids or grandkids on Myrtle Beaches Family friendly beaches. Or indulge in the luxury lifestyle on Hilton Head Island. And don't forget Folly Beach just down the road from Charleston South Carolina. Folly Beach is a town that time seems to have forgotten. And while your in Folly Beach plan a walk to the end of the barrier island to look at the Morris Island Lighthouse. Over the years Morris Island has been washed away until now there is only a Morris Island at low tide. At high tide the old Morris Island Lighthouse is the only thing sticking up above the waves. At the other end of the barrier island is one of the Charleston County Parks with sand dunes and beaches for you to enjoy. The park is at the southern end of the island.
The Wright Brothers taught the world to fly at Kittyhawk North Carolina, now home to the Wright Brothers National Memorial on the outer banks of N.C.Nearby, you can learn to hang glide at Jockey's Ridge State Park, the east coasts largest sand dune. Are you an American History Buff then be sure to visit North Carolina's Outer Banks and the town of Ocracoke one of America's most historic towns and once home to the Pirate Blackbeard who was killed near here.
If you're into ghosts and ghostly tales you're in the right place here. Every night there is a Haunted Ocracoke Ghost Tour where you can take a tour and hear about the ghosts of the area and if your lucky you might just catch look at the ghost of Blackbeard.
So what are you waiting on. Why not plan your trip to North Carolina's outer banks now. Watch the wild horses and spend days walking on the 16 miles of beach in the area.
