No Starbucks was not the first Coffee House. The very first coffee houses opened in Italy around 1645. Between 1512 and 1514 Coffee Houses became popular places for political gatherings in Mecca.

Did you know that by 1675 there were more than 3000 Coffee Houses in England with most of them located in England.

America had its first Coffee House in Boston in 1676. It was here in the Coffee House called the " Green Dragon " that the American Revolution was planned.

In case your wondering that very first Starbucks Coffee House opened in Seattle on March 30th 1971. And it was not long before they opened more and more Starbucks locations. Starbucks now has over 16.600 stores world wide and they add new Starbucks stores almost weekly.

Why Get A Single Cup Coffee Maker

If your a regular coffee drinker and you want your cup of coffee hot when you get it then a single cup coffee maker is probably the right coffee maker for you. Yes you need a single cup coffee maker for your home. In case you don't know single cup coffee makers are the latest trend.

You can get a regular coffee maker that makes coffee in the traditional way through a regular filter system. Really the only difference is that it makes a single cup of coffee at a time. Coffee Makers of this type are pretty standard and there really is nothing really special about them.

You will find that single pod systems is what is being used by most offices today. Pod systems are easy to clean and it lets you play around with flavors and it blends them quite easily for you.

With a pod system all you have to do is attach your pod to the coffee machine and press a button. It will then allow you to choose your type of coffee and any flavors , creams , etc that you may want to add. Coffee Makers that use the pod system are usually more expensive than regular coffee makers.

Can you tell me what are the advantages of single cup coffee makers.

1. It improves the taste of the coffee. When you make a regular pot of coffee in a coffee maker the left over coffee gets stale and as it sets there the flavor gets worse.

2. With a single cup brew system you can enjoy a freshly brewed hot cup of coffee any time you wish.

3. With a single cup coffee maker no coffee goes to waste. With a single cup coffee maker you only brew what you are going to drink right away.

4. Most single cup coffee makers are very easy to use.

5. Most single cup coffee makers are portable so you can take it with you every where you go. So you really can have a great cup of coffee any where you go.

Do you always make a pot of coffee only to throw part of it away. Then a single cup coffee maker or even good quality instant coffee would be perfect for you. Do you realize if your throwing away a half a pot of coffee a day that your throwing away money.

I like the Folgers instant coffee and you can buy the coffee in little packs so you can heat the water and make a hot cup of coffee any time you want. And you won't be wasting money throwing away all that coffee.Of course you can pick out your favorite instant coffee and enjoy it. Or you can buy a single cup coffee maker and still enjoy brewed coffee.

Incidentally don't throw away those used coffee grounds, instead add them to your compost pile or put them around your vegetable plants out in the garden. The coffee grounds are great for your vegetables and they will keep away some pests.
