Why Did We Stand By While The Politicians Sold Out America

America is in trouble and no one really seems to care. Instead of waking up and demanding real solutions to the real problems facing America we just keep playing their political games.
America is in trouble and no one really seems to care. Instead of waking up and demanding real solutions to the real problems facing America we just keep playing their political games.

Wake Up America Before Its To Late!

Of course in many ways its already to late. We allowed the textile industry to be shipped over seas and America lost hundreds of thousands of jobs to foreign countries. In the future NAFTA will quite possibly be seen as the end of America as we knew it. And before anyone starts screaming Democrats or Republicans let me tell you it was both parties that allowed the American Textile Industry to be destroyed. And even today the political parties comes up with ways to get your mind off the real issues facing America. They want you to stay sheep and blindly follow along with what ever political rhetoric they want you to. I say its time that we as American people say enough. We should demand that textile imports into America stop and that not one more dollar be sent to starving people over seas as long as we have hungry people here in America. And yes we do have hungry people here in America.

We must wake up as a American people and demand that America come first before any other country. We must have our textile, steel, and automobile jobs back even if it means banning any textile, steel, or automobile imports from coming into America. We must rebuild the American Industrial base or America as a country is finished.

It's Time To Stop Playing The Blame Game And Being Politically Correct

Before long as soon as I publish this hub someone is going to come along and blame everything on one political party or the other. But let me tell you both of the political parties are to blame and they want to keep your mind off things like the lost Textile Industry Jobs. We need to throw all the bums out of office. Neither the Republicans or Democrats are able to make it work but we keep electing these morons. And we play their politically correct games.

We Should Be For America First And To Hell With The Rest Of The World.

As Americans we should demand a national vote on banning textile, steel, and automobile imports from the United States. So what if we piss off China and Mexico. We should have never allowed them to have our jobs in the first place. We should take back America and make the American Dream live once again. Let me ask you a question. Are you truly better off financially than your parents and grand parents. If not then why not. I'll tell you why we let the politicians sell out the USA and we stood by and watched while they did it.

What Can You Do?

First off stop letting yourself being led around like a sheep and demand that the politicians stop being politically correct and stand up for America. I say to hell with both parties. We need a new party that will be for America first. Stop playing their political games. Ask your politicians some serious questions.

1. Why did America lose most of their textile, steel, and automobile jobs?

2. Why are 14.000 homeless people living in downtown New Orleans and another 300.000 plus people can't come home to New Orleans?

3. Why do American children go to bed hungry at night while we continue to send billions of dollars overseas?

Ask any politician those three questions and listen to the line of bulls**t they give you. I guarantee you that the democrats and the republicans are not going to give you satisfactory answers. What you are going to get is a lot of spin. I'm going to leave the comments on this hub page unmoderated and see where it goes. If it gets out of hand I will change it.

I think every country feels this burden for their own...here in Canada, all our industries are being bought up by the US, so even though the US may be losing, they're also gaining...don't forget that. However, as with each country, we always need to remember that we are allowing our own people to suffer for the good of other nations, and it's truly a real problem.....

I agree, our elected congress has 2 people that are not millionares, they go to Washington and get to work on being re-elected. They all signed off on shipping manufacturing jobs out and decimating the middle class, soon there will just be no middle class in America and when 90% of us end up poor, they are gonna have a really tough time spinning it!

I agree so much with the paragraph that soon someone will come along and blame one political party or the other, It is time to stop the blame both by us as citizens and the politicians. It is time I believe to get down on our knees and pray for the holy sovereign God to step in, if we need correction the correct, if we need restoration then restore. But I believe it is time to open up and not take anymore, just as that movie said," I'm not going to take it anymore.

I don't care what the hub is about, but if you are an American, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting the American Flag upside down. Greg

The American Flag has quite often been flown up side down in times of trouble and if this isn't a time of trouble I don't know when it will be.

I am a Native American and I love the USA very much but not what it has become.

There are some great comments and they are all very appreciated. Thanks everyone.

It is officially a sign of distress and if we are not in a period of distress when will we be.

We have many homeless Americans and no one seems to care.

We have many hungry Americans and no one seems to care.

All of our American Industrial Base is being sent over seas and no one seems to care.

I really believe if people like they Kennedy brothers , Dwight Eisenhower , George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were alive today they might call for revolution. Because its later than most people think. We need to wake up and demand that the Democrats and the Republicans think of America first and to hell with any other country. We must take America back even if we have to have a revolution to do it.

You are right about the flag. But I don't we are in Dire Distress. We may be like a ship that has been hit, but we aren't sinking. The people of this country are standing up to the government. I apologize for the comment about the flag, but it still bothers me to see anyone place it upside down. It's bad enough that the people elected a president who, along with his wife, actually attended flag burning cerimonies. Greg

I echo your sentiments. Too many jobs are being lost to outsourcing and oversea ventures. Companies find it less expensive to operate outside of the US, so they move their manufacturing areas to other countries, thus displacing millions of workers. Companies are profit-based, so this is a fiscally sound move for the top execs and stockholders who reap the benefits, while the workers suffer the fallout. This beautiful country has too many resources for its people to suffer hunger. All political parties must work together to attack this problem.

I wish we could restart the American economy with such jobs, but I don't think it’s possible to bring them back anymore. If we try to cut ourselves off, China will call in our markers for all the debt they have purchased from us. The country would be forced to file for bankruptcy which would destroy any possibility for quick growth. Look at what happened to England when their reign of prominence ended or especially when Rome fell. Every super power throughout history eventually fell and unfortunately it seems that America is now going to be another casualty if we don't stop it and change our debt ridden free fall. Not to mention all of the people who just live off welfare and are not interested in gaining employment or learning a skill because it will cut down on the freebies they are given! What happened to the true American spirit? The drive to succeed? America has become to lazy and this is what happened.

You are definitely right that the 2 party system has outlived its usefulness and become so entrenched in our society it will probably take a revolution to fix it. Great hub!

SJerZGirl 15 months ago

My level of anger may be more partisan, but you are right. Both sides have participated in the decline and the current degree of animosity and anti-government fervor is only going to add new layers of disruption to the mix because many of them believe that poverty is self-imposed (blame the victim), so why help the poor. We are in trouble and the people need to stand up and put a stop to the hate and division that is taking place.

phillip goodson profile image

phillip goodson 15 months ago

It is a viscious cycle, we vote one rich guy out and get another one just like him in his place, regardless of party. They both have lost touch with the middle class. If we all marched on Washington like the Egyptians did, I think our own police would make the Iranian's look like boyscouts.

crazyhorsesghost profile image

crazyhorsesghost Hub Author 15 months ago

phillip goodson I don't doubt at all that you are right. If a large group of determined American's marched on Washington I can see them being ordered to disperse and if they did not I can see them being fired on.

Its really sad where our country has come to. I really think America might break up into several countries just like Russia did.

Our American middle class is being made poorer and poorer and if you believe that its really going to ever change for the better with out radical change then I am afraid you are sadly mistaken, Our country is in serious distress and we either fix it or we let it drift into something none of us are going to like.

America must have back an industrial base or it will never be the country it once was. We need to demand a ban on textile imports, automobile imports, and steel imports. If America does this we have to be ready to seriously piss off some countries like China and Mexico. We need to seriously limit the amount of new immigrants allowed into America.

We must stand up for America and to hell with any other country. And we can't do it and be politically correct. Being politically correct is never going to save America. We are going to have to step on some toes to save America.

I hate to beat an idea to death, but what happens to the country when China especially calls in all of our debt? They own over 50% of it. With those kind of numbers it pretty much gaurantees that EVERY political official is not going to support anything that ticks them off. Plus if we close off our borders to all imports, other countries are going to do the same for our exports...How does that ensure Ameica rebuilds? Has anyone else heard of the Bergs, the group who is supposed to make the financial decisions for the world economy? We have to come up with an export that every country will want to get their hands on, not to mention be willing to pay for it. A lot of the countries want our green technology but they aren't willing to pay for it. China has even gone so far as to say that they should get the technology free! We need change, and not the kind that was touted during the last presidential election. I still haven't seen any real affects for the middle class, of which I'm one of the many. As Scrooge McDuck said, we need to work smarter not harder.

I like what Donald Trumph said about China, he said the first thing he would do is put a 25% import tax on anything they sent our way, then they would stop manipulating their currency. Our politicians aren't good business men. Our own business community is making the most of our current situation, ie cheap labor and materials anywhere they can get them. Our government is the only entity that can bring back manufactoring. Jimmy Carter made a law that any new car sold in America had to be built here, that in itself would create millions of jobs in manufactoring and be a huge shot in the arm for state and federal governments. So what if the price of new cars goes up a little, auto makers would adjust and compete, millions of Americans would go back to work overnight, there would be trillions of more tax dollars for the government and tons of local business's would thrive.

I feel that we were asleep at the switch because all those fringe groups were demanding that they be heard and even taking their case to all the courts - then on top of that they were getting on some talk shows and again demanding that no matter if theys stood for nothing that they still demanded to be heard and would fill the courts with cases from liberal lawyers and help from liberal politicians that helped them in their quest to gain a foothold in mainstream society even if they didn't have anthing to contribute.

However, once Obama's ideoligy became clear then us'ns realized that something needed to be done to get the country back on track, hence the formation of the Tea Party and we finally woke up.

I agree with you Crazyhorsesghost,

I think they need to outlaw lobbying and re-write the copywrite laws to bring back the factories to the US. Greed is a sickness. It has been allowed to get out of hand here and covered up with lies.

Great hub! I gave it a vote up.

Yes indeed if we do not take back our factory jobs then America is basically finished. Its sad that we were sold out by our elected politicians both Republicans and Democrats. We need a revolution in America. We need to stand up as a people and demand that America come first and that everything in our country be perfect before we send one more dime overseas.

Do you know that 46 million Americans face Hunger on a daily basis. That's 1 in 6 Americans. How in the hell did we get here. Well I'll tell you how. We let the politicians play political games with our life's and they have really screwed us over. Wake up America its later than you think.

I think that is a fantastic idea to restart the auto manufacturers! The Big 3 got into so much trouble because they were over producing and by reinstating that all cars sold in America must be built in America will have a great affect on American jobs. (It might even help other countries as they would have to setup manufacturing plants here as well as positions where they are located. GREAT IDEA!!!

We need a paradigm shift in the way government is ran. The opposing party is a dated idea. When policy is decided by the color of a tie, rather than an idea, it is time to take a personal inventory.

crazyhorsesghost profile image

Exactly red and blue states is one of the dumbest things ever conceived. We are first Americans. And we as Americans should be worrying about America not the political problems of nations 6000 or more miles away. We have enough problems here in America but no one seems to care. All they care about is the political spin. The political spin is destroying America but people continue to play right into it and you know what. The government of the USA wants you interested in the spin. If Americans focused on the problems and not on the spin the politicians would be in serious trouble. They might have to care about the country they were elected by and the people that elected them but they continue to get the American people interested in the spin and keep your mind off of Americas real problems.

What was spent on the endless war and occupation in Iraq, could have provided funding for our domestic necessities for many decades. It is criminal to have policies of government based on corporate profit, while our country becomes a bankrupt shell.

Bottom line is, we have become a service country. I am an engineered that has seen his wages driven down significantley because of outsourcing. Soon, people with Masters Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering will be fighting over the job at

Walmart to shine the Chinese business man's shoes. Oh yea, what the bell, I thought China was a communist country. We now have a communist country making policy decisions for the country that fought a war to end communism. F_ING politicions talk out of both sides of their mouths.
