Walt Disneys Mickey Mouse 80 Years Old

Yes Mickey Mouse is 80 years old and below is his first feature film , Steamboat Willie released in 1928. It is of course in black and white. Do you remember black and white TV. Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney after he lost the rights to Oswald The Rabbit. Well I don't think I have ever heard of Oswald The Rabbit but I sure have heard of Mickey Mouse as have most everyone on the planet earth. Mickey Mouse is well known in almost every country on earth.

Not only was Steam Boat Willie Mickey's first outing it was the first animated film with synchronized sound and that made it a huge hit in 1928 when it was released. Watch the cartoon below and then let us know what you think about it in the comments section below.

I know when I was a child I lived for Saturday mornings and cartoons and Mickey Mouse , Donald Duck and Pluto were always some of my favorites. I remember when I was 11 and we got our first color TV. It made the cartoons come to life like never before and I was hooked. I wonder sometimes what the children of today are missing when I turn on cartoons. For the most part you rarely get to watch the old cartoons unless you have Boomerang and yes I and my family have it and love watching the old cartoons. Sponge Bob Square Pants may be the most popular today but I'll tell you quick he's no Mickey Mouse.
