Interview With The Vampire

Ann Rice's Interview With The Vampire published in 1976 was one of the most read Vampire Books of all time. Ann Rice wrote the book in 1973 and brought the Vampire Lestat to life in a way never seen before. And created a following like had never been seen before. Rice has done several sequels to the book Interview With The Vampire and they have became known as the Vampire Chronicles. A Film version of Interview With The Vampire was released in 1994 and starred Tom Cruise , Antonio Banderas , Kirsten Dunst , and Brad Pitt. Ann Rice brought Lestat and her other vampires to life like no other author ever has. Growing up in New Orleans gave Ann Rice a insight into the paranormal like no other author in history. She quite simply wrote in such a way to make you feel as if you could step into the pages of one of her books. Or that Lestat might step out of the book and feed on you.

Vampires , Where Did It All Start And Why !

Many people have theories for the origins of vampire beliefs that they have offered as an explanation for the superstition, and sometimes mass hysteria, caused by vampires. Everything ranging from premature burial to the early ignorance of the body's decomposition cycle after death has been cited as the cause for the belief in vampires.

Many people in the early times were buried alive by mistake and the lucky few were able to dig out and when people saw them up walking around they flat out freaked. Many times the poor unfortunate person would be staked or burned alive because people really believed they had returned from the grave as a vampire ready to prey on the family members left behind.

Of course this was before modern medicine and back in those days people were buried with out being embalmed. So if the person was only in a coma and then they got up out of the grave you can see where superstitious people would have thought the person back from the grave was a vampire.

COMPLETE HISTORY ABOUT VAMPIRES

Vampire Secrets

The Oxford English Dictionary says that the word Vampire first appeared in the English language around 1734 though creatures of the Vampire nature can be traced back to the 700 AD Rome area of present day Rome Italy. It is also a historical fact that people in then Serbia and that general area were known to exhume bodies from the grave and drive a stake thru the heart and burn the bodies in the early 1500's over fear that the dead person had become a Vampire and was preying on area villiagers. It is said to be the 1897 Bram Stokers book Dracula that is said to have brought the Vampire into main stream society. After that there have been many movies made and books written about Vampires.

And who knows what you might find if you were to go walking on a dark New Orleans French Quarter street late at night. You might feel something watching you and then you might hear footsteps behind you following you and then you might not ever hear anything again. You might wish Buffy The Vampire Slayer was there to help you but she's not real either you know.

Did you know that in 1960 a man was found in a Hospital bed in Miami  early one morning with two puncture wounds to his neck and no blood in his body. No one has ever explained what happened to the man or how it happened. It was at the old city hospital where this is said to have happened and two nuns reported screams from the room and when they entered the room a dark shape that looked simular to a man jumped out the third story window and ran or flew away. And if you check around you will find many more strange and unusual stories of this type that can not be explained.
