Asheville North Carolina is one of the most beautiful places to visit in western North Carolina with lots of great things to see and do. Located in Asheville North Carolina you will find the Biltmore House and Gardens which is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is also known as America's Castle. And if you do visit Biltmore House and Gardens go in the spring when the Azela's are in bloom or at Christmas time when the house is decorated for Christmas.
And Biltmore House has its ghosts. George Vanderbilt the owner of Biltmore House died from complications of surgery and his wife was horribly upset. She would set in front of a fireplace downstairs and talk with George. What the servants told next really shook some people up. They claimed they could hear George talking back to his wife. A headless orange cat is seen in the house and on the grounds. It is said it was once George Vanderbilts cat and one day a servant in a fit of rage cut the cats head off because it kept coming in the kitchen. There is a pool in the basement of the house and the sounds of people swimming can be heard at night even though the pool has not had water in it for many years. It has also been reported that people have heard insane laughter coming from the pool drain area.

There were many indian burials found in this area in the late 1940's and people say after the graves were disturbed the paranormal activity at the bridge and around it shot up.
Barleys Tavern and The 1906 Massacare
One of the worst events in Asheville's History happened on November 13 , 1906. A man named Will Harris killed five people including two police officiers before he turned the gun on himself. He also shot and injured many more people. And to this day no one knows why he did it. The towns old gallows used to stand right near the Tavern and people say strange things have always went on in this area. People still report hearing screams and seeing a man dressed all in black who walks into the front door of the tavern and vanishes. Many people claim the man in black is the ghost of the towns executioner from the late 1800's.
Craven Street Bridge
The ghost of a naked little boy that drowned in the French Broad river is seen often when there is heavy fog in the area. People see him on the bridge and call 911 to report it but no little boy is ever found.
The Ghost Of Dr Jamie Smith in Chicken Alley
Dr Jamie Smith died in a Bar Room Fight in a tavern that was then located in Chicken Alley in Asheville. He walks along with his long black duster coat and fedora hat. He carries a cane. People have seen him for over 100 years and he is always described almost exactly the same.

Haunted Raleigh North Carolina
Raliegn North Carolina is the capital of North Carolina and is a city with a lot of history of war , death , and tragedy. The City Hall is apparently haunted by a World War One era soldier who is seen looking in office windows and scaring people. People who have seen him say he looks so real until you go look for him and realize its not a spooky man peeking in windows but a spooky ghost.
At the North Carolina State University people see and hear all kinds of strange and unusual things. People are often seen walking around that simply vanish or walk straight into walls. Many dorms are apparently haunted by a boy student who killed himself by hanging. He walks up to people and vanishes and it scares the holy living shit out of some people. A girl is also heard screaming in one dorm but no one has a explanation for that one. Ghost Hunters who have been to the NC State University say the place is a hot bed of Paranormal Activity.

I read this entire post, and reread the part about Charlotte many times.
I lived in Charlotte for the first two years of my life, but I can remember growing up always being there. My great grandma lived on bay street. The way we took was Old Monroe rd. until the old brick tower that firemen used for practice fires. and turned at the lumber yard.
I remember there was a railroad track about the street or so after that lumber yard. Me and my great grandma had always walked up there to pick the purple mums in the spring. She passed away the summer before my 7th birthday; my family sold her house in charlotte.
The summer of 8th grade, I wanted to ride by the old house, just to see it for the memories. So, my grandma and grandpa took me up there, we didnt stop just slowed down so i could see the house. When leaving the area, we took the road that would take parallel to the train tracks. I looked to the left when we passed by, and saw my great grandma standing there. I made eye contact with a family member who meant so much to me who i knew was gone. I felt like i was going insane in the backseat of a car. The ride home I can remember staring out the window, I didnt talk to my grandparents or anything. When we finally got back to the house (in monroe) I let them go inside first, I think i just wanted to sit alone for a moment. After they had gone inside, I just sat. i couldnt move any part of my body, I can remember I felt like my chest wasnt moving but I knew i was breathing. Then I felt really cold. Like I had stepped inside of a deep freezer and then out in the sun to thaw. I looked to my right and Nanny (my great grandma) was sitting beside me. I could smell the butterscotch candy on her breath she was so close. She handed me the biggest mum I think i've ever seen, and said "it'll be okay" and she was gone.
I put that mum inside my bible when i finally walked inside. It now hangs in a frame along with the other mums that we picked while she was living.
i love ghost hunters && paranormal state

real story here. Me and my family were living in a house a few years ago. After moving in started hearing and seeing things. Children laughing, footsteps when there was on one there to make them, movement on the bed when I was alone and all sorts of other REAL experiences in this house. Turns out, 50 years earlier on that EXACT same spot an old mobile home stood. A mother and her two daughters lived there and the mother was cooking on the burner on night, went outside to hang clothes on the line, turned around and the mobile home was ablaze. The little girls could be heard screaming while burning to death in the fire. Neighbors tried their best to get the little girls out of the fire but failed. The souls of those little girls are still on the property off of Old Statesville Rd. two blocks from the fire station which is just before Harris Boulevard in Charlotte, N.C. I am a true believer!!!
Cullowhee Valley School (Grades K-8) in Cullowhee, North Carolina was built on the site of a couple native american villages, dating from five hundred years ago to several thousand years ago. The site was a village multiple times, as there would be one there that would get destroyed or abandoned and the people would move elsewhere. The site was a family homestead and farm from the mid-1800s up until the 1970s. When NC 107 was relocated in the 1980s, the old farmhouse was moved across the new road to a new site. The School itself was built in 1994, with site work preparation began in the late 1980s. They discovered serious erosion issues and uncovered the site of the ancient villages during the site work, and construction was postponed for two years. When it resumed, workers noticed strange things happening, tools disappearing and doing strange, erratic things. When the school first opened, there were many reports from students and faculty of strange occurrences, including lights flickering and turning on and off by themselves, technology behaving in an erratic manner, doors opening and closing by themselves, some rooms being impossible to heat or cool, toilets flushing, and the automatic air dryers going off by themselves. During a 6th Grade Band Concert in the late 1990s, the doors inside the locker rooms slammed open and closed by themselves spontaneously. When teachers investigated, they found the contents of the rooms scattered about and nobody inside. People at the school often feel like they are being watched and many teachers who stayed after school until late at night to do work for their classes often report seeing native american people walking up or down the hallways of the school, dressed how they dressed before the settlers came. Since artifacts were returned to the building around 2000, the sightings have continued, but have decreased in intensity and frequency. I went to school there, and I can assure you that a lot of weird stuff did happen to students, parents, teachers and staff.
this is awesome.
