The Worlds Best Homemade Mashed Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes Recipe
I really do believe I make the worlds best mashed potatoes and the recipe really isn't that hard. If at all possible obtain a gold potato variety to make your mashed potatoes from. If Klondike Gold are available in your area they produce wonderful mashed potatoes.
You will want 8 - 12 large potatoes depending on how many people you are going to be feeding mashed potatoes to.If you have a lot of people just double the recipe.
Peel your potatoes and cut up into small cubes.
Cook in salted water until the potatoes are fork tender.
Place your potatoes in a large bowl with extra room so you can use a electric hand mixer to mix up your potatoes with.
Drain your potatoes well and place them into the large bowl.
To the bowl with the potatoes in it add.
1 Teaspoon Salt.
1 Teaspoon White Pepper.
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.
2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise, ( Dukes Brand If Possible )
1 Cup Half And Half added a little at a time. , Don't get your potatoes to thin.
Now take your electric hand mixer and beat your potatoes well. Add your half and half a bit at a time so you don't get your potatoes to thin.
Once you have your potatoes beaten and the way you want them place them in your serving bowl and sprinkle with sweet red paprika. Right in the middle add a heaping tablespoon of margarine.
These potatoes are so delicious and they go great with almost anything. I love them with my Double Breaded Fried Chicken. Make a little chicken gravy to go with them and the chicken and you will have one of the most delicious meals you will ever eat.
