OFFICIAL Sweeney Todd Trailer!
Second Sweeney Todd Trailer!
The Story of Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street in London was first told in the Penny Dreadfuls that were sold in those days for you guessed it one penny.
In the original story Sweeney Todd was said to be a Barber on Fleet Street in London who killed his wealthy customers by slitting their throats with a sharp barbers razor and then he let them fall thru a trap door under his barber chair into the basement of the first floor Pie Shop that specialized in Meat Pies. Mrs Lovett who ran the Pie Shop was his partner in crime and after Sweeney Todd would rob them Mrs Lovett would cut them up and bake them into Meat Pies she sold to her unsuspecting customers. Todds Barber Shop was located at 186 Fleet Street next to St. Dunstan's church and all three places Sweeney Todds Barber Shop , Mrs Lovetts Pie Shop and the church were connected by underground passages. Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett hid the skulls and bones of their victims in among the caskets in the catacombs under St Dunstan's Church. Sweeney Todd and his partner in crime Mrs Lovett were credited with killing over 100 men. Both were hung for their crimes.
The Sweeney Todd Story was made into a movie in 2007 and that is where the Sweeney Todd Videos here are from.
The Sweeney Todd Story is one of the creepest stories ever told. Is it true? Some people claim it is while others claim it isn't. There was a Sweeney Todds Barber Shop on Fleet Street in1842. And there was a Pie Shop run by a Mrs Lovett. And you have to remember what London was like at that time. There were no laws govering meat or cafes at that time and there are horror stories from that time of people who died from eating tainted meat and other foods. Disease played a huge part in peoples lifes in those days. It was in this same era that Jack The Ripper would become infamous and we know for a fact that Jack The Ripper was a true story. So maybe the story of Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was true also.

Great hub! I missed this movie at the theaters, now have a clear picture of what it's all about-going to rent it when it's released on DVD. I had no idea the story was so interesting.
