Even though you may never have knew it until now there are many more uses for table salt than simply using it on your table to season foods. In case you don't know your much better off to use sea salt for flavoring your food because you will get many great nutrients and minerals out of sea salt that you won't get out of regular old table salt. So the next time you purchase salt check out the sea salt for sale in the spice aisle at your near by super market.

And below are 60 uses for salt that you probably never knew about.

1. Soak white socks in salted water before you wash them and they will come out very clean.

2. You can sprinkle salt where you see ants to keep the ants away.

3. If you soak fresh caught fish in salt water you will be able to remove the scales much easier.

4. Have trouble with your salt clumping up and not wanting to come out of your salt shakers. The solution to this is easy just add a few grains of regular rice to the salt shaker and you will have no more problems. The rice is to large to come out the holes in the salt shaker.

5. Add a little bit of salt to green salads to keep them from wilting.

6. If you wonder if your eggs are fresh or not mix a spoon of salt in a 8 ounce glass of water. Test your eggs by placing them one at a time in the salt water. Good eggs sink while bad eggs will float.

7. If your boiling eggs salt the water to keep your eggs from cracking early.

8. Just a pinch of salt added to egg whites will make them beat up really fluffy.

9. You can soak wrinkled apples or wrinkled cabbage in salt water to bring it back fresh. Just use the apples or cabbage as soon as you soak it.

10. Rub salt on your waffle iron and then brush away and your waffles will never stick.

11. You can soak your toothbrushes in salt water before you first use them and they will last much longer.

12. You can use salt to clean your discolored coffee pot. Add 2 tablespoons of salt and four ice cubes and shake the ice cubes around to clean the inside of the coffee pot.

13. You can soak nuts in salt water over night and they will crack out of their shells much easier.

14. Boil your clothes pins in salt water before you first use them and they will last much longer and they won't fall apart as easy as the non soaked ones will.

15. You can clean your brass really clean with a paste made from salt and white vinegar. Scrub the brass with it and a old toothbrush and then wipe clean with a clean rag.

16. Add a little salt to the water in flower vases and the flowers will stay fresh much longer.

17. If you have a ink spot on your carpet make up a paste of salt and water and scrub it into the ink stain. Let stand a few hours and then clean away the ink spot.

18. Clean your hair brush and comb by soaking them in salt water over night and then wash under cold running water.

19. Clean your irons bottom with salt and a wet rag to remove anything sticking to the bottom of your iron.

20. Use sea salt instead of regular table salt when ever possible in your cooking and you will be making a much healthier choice.

21. Use a mixture of salt and lemon juice to clean most plastic items and especially hard plastic cutting boards.

22. If you feel a sore throat coming on gargle with salt water.

23. Use a little salt water to wash out a sore eye.

24. Salt water makes a great moth wash.

25. Dry salt on a wet toothbrush will clean your teeth well.

26. You can use salt to kill weeds in your yard.

59. Clean your tires with a good brush and salt to get them super clean.

60. Pour boiling salt in ant hills and the ants will move on to another location. You can sprinkle salt in their paths to confuse them and discourage them from coming in your house.
