One In Five People In U.S.A. Soup Kitchen Lines Is A Child

Tonight as you set there reading this there are 12 million hungry children in the U.S.A. Yes 12 million children who may not have had enough food and may go to bed hungry tonight. Over the last few months I and members of People Helping People here in North Carolina have started locating food and taking it to the local shelters. We visit grocery store dumpsters and take the food from the dumpsters. We sort and repackage the food and take it to local shelters and give it to them to feed hungry persons. The need is so great. Every night in the local shelters there are children who do not have milk. And no they won't have any milk in the morning. We have created a hub page called Milk For The Children. And you know some of the things I find out sadden me and make me very angry. Retail Giant Walmarts Corporate Policy is that all food they can not use must be thrown away and not be given to organizations trying to feed the hungry. Its for this reason that we started a Hub Page called Good Food Should Not Go Into Dumpsters. CLICK HERE to visit that hub page. New Film Being Currently Made , Hunger In America.

We are currently in the process of shooting a documentry called Hunger In America. We hope to use the film to bring attention to the issues of Hunger in America. We hope to have the film up on You Tube before Thanksgiving and we will be sure to post the video as soon as it is ready here on Hub Pages.

Its really sad that in one of the richest countries in the world we have hungry people. I just wish you could see on a daily basis. Children laughing out loud with happiness at the sight of a bannana and you wouldn't believe the kind of reaction you can get from people when they are served hotdogs from the back of a pick up truck. Or women that cry when they see bags of ice. One later told me she had forgot how very tasty crushed ice was. People this is America I am telling you about. Not some third world country. But a town called Shelby in North Carolina. Theres no way this can be right. We must wake up America and come together as one and demand a end to hunger in America. We need to forget racial and political divisions and come together as one people demanding that hunger in America end. Every year greedy corporations like Walmart throw away enough food to feed all the hungry people in America. I could take you around behind grocery stores all over America and show you the dumpsters full of food. This is so wrong people. We are all Americans and we should demand that all usable foods should go for the use of hungry people and never go into dumpsters.
