Has "Jack the Ripper" Been Identified?

Who Was Jack The Ripper ? And How Many Women Did He Kill ?

Down through history since the Ripper murders happened in London's White Chapel people have wondered who Jack The Ripper Was. Did Jack only kill in London or did he come to the United States. CLICK HERE to read , Jack The Ripper In America. And in recent years there has even been speculation that Jack The Ripper may have even been Jill The Ripper. You can CLICK HERE to read all about Jill The Ripper.

And there has been much debate about how many women did Jack The Ripper kill. Was it five as Scotland Yard claimed or was it eleven as some researchers claim or did Jack the Ripper cross the Atlantic Ocean and commit murders in New York and quite possibly in other locations around the United States.

Most people who have never studied White Chapel during the time of the ripper murders don't really realize how very easy it would have been for some one to hide almost in plain site. If you were 10 foot or more from someone with the fog and the coal smoke you could not have seen them. It is said that that White Chapel in the 1880's was the scene of the worst poverty in the world up until that time. London especially White Chapel is quite often foggy and add to that smoke from thousands of coal fires and you have smoke and fog that you can only see through for a few feet.

And London's Metropolitan Police estimated that there were 1200 prostitutes and 62 brothels in White Chapel during 1888. Recent researchers say that Jack the Ripper committed eleven murders from 1888 - 1891 and it is now believed that all of them were prostitutes.

Jack the Ripper could have very easily moved throughout White Chapel with out drawing attention to himself and could have at most time have hidden in plain site. And if you accept the recent research that says that DNA evidence shows a woman wrote the accepted ripper letter then its quite possible that Jack the Ripper could have in fact have been Jill The Ripper. If Jack the Ripper was in fact a woman and probably a mid wife then this would explain a lot.

Recent studies and research now says that Jack the Ripper may have in fact been a man and he may have not only killed in London's White Chapel but he may have crossed the ocean and may have committed murders in New York City. What do you think. Do you think Jack the Ripper may have made his way to America.

If Jack the Ripper did come to America it would explain why the killings in London stopped. A recent TV show on the Discovery channel says that not only did Jack the Ripper come to America but that he may have been executed at New York's Sing Sing prison for one of the murders he committed in New York City.

Most people including the police in 1888 London would have had real trouble in believing that a woman could have committed the ripper murders. However a mid wife of that time could have moved around freely even if she had blood on her clothes because it was common for a mid wife to have even been covered in blood. She would have probably only been captured if she was caught in the act of killing one of her victims.

Was Jack The Ripper A Woman

Mary Eleanor Wheeler who was executed for the brutal murder of a woman and her baby is the chief suspect if a mid wife was the murderer known as Jack The Ripper. Wheelers father was executed for the murder of another man and Wheeler was later executed for killing a woman and her baby. However Wheeler was a small woman and some medical researchers have said that they doubt that a woman could have possibly have committed the brutal ripper murderers. They say that a woman would not have had the strength to carry out the horrific brutal acts that were committed by Jack the Ripper.

If you look at photos like the above photo of White Chapel and imagine it covered with fog and coal smoke you can see how Jack the Ripper could have easily have moved around and been able to hide from the police looking for him. He could have realistically been 10 feet from them and they would have walked right by him.

Was Jack The Ripper A Royal Heir To The Crown Of England.

Many researchers think that there is much evidence to suggest that Albert Victor the Duke of Clarence and the grandson of Queen Victoria may have in fact have been Jack The Ripper. Albert was more commonly known as Prince Eddy and it is reported that he was a very evil man and was said by many people to have been quite mad. He was locked away on Royal Estates from time to time and he died at the early age of 28. Many many people believed that Prince Eddy was Jack the Ripper. And the police would have definitely covered up the fact had they known that Prince Eddy was Jack the Ripper.

There have even been rumors over the years that there were many more ripper victims than the eleven reported ones and that the police covered it up.

However we have to keep in mind that no one was ever charged with the ripper murders. The police science of the 1880's was not what it is today. If the ripper murders were to occur today the murderer would most surely be caught. One letter written at the time of the murders is believed to have come from the real Jack the Ripper while there were many other letters written that claimed to be Jack the Ripper but the police did not believe them.

It is now generally believed by many researchers who have carefully studied the ripper murders that the real Jack the Ripper would have had to have had medical knowledge. The Royal London Hospital was at the time located there in White Chapel where it is still located to this day. Quite possibly it was a doctor from the Royal London Hospital who was Jack the Ripper.

But it is interesting to note here that a mid wife would also have had medical knowledge and it is quite possible that Jack the Ripper was in fact a woman and a mid wife. If so this would explain a lot. A mid wife would have never been suspected in 1880's London. A mid wife would have had the medical knowledge many researchers have said that Jack the Ripper possessed. A mid wife could have easily moved around White Chapel even covered in blood and no one would have thought or suspected anything. So it is quite possible that Jack the Ripper may have in fact been Jill the Ripper.

Why not tell us all in the comment section below who you think Jack the Ripper was. Thanks for reading my hub page on , Who Was Jack the Ripper and I hope if you have comments or questions that you will post them below now.

After much recent research there is now evidence that Jack the Ripper may have been a German man who went to New York city and he may have been captured in New York City and may have been executed at New York states Sing Sing Prison for one of the murders he did in the United States. It really makes one wonder why it took all these years for the information to come out.

I really would like to hear what you think about the identity of Jack the Ripper. Please feel free to post your comments below now. And thanks very much for reading this Hub Page on Jack the Ripper.
