Should You Have Pet Health Insurance

Owning a pet can mean making some hard decisions. Such as should I go ahead and let the vet do everything he can to save Fluffy and run up a $1500.00 vet bill or should I just have her put to sleep.

But if your fortunate enough to have a job with Home Depot or Disney your job may come with insurance for your pets. Yes pet health insurance. And those of us with pets know how expensive health care for pets has become. Today expensive procedures like for instance MRI's and dental surgery are now done on pets and in the past these type of procedures were not common.

And you probably be surprised at how many other companies offer their employees pet health insurance today. Those companies include Sprint Nextel, Del Monte Foods , and Comcast Cable. And while Pet Health Insurance won't cover all expenses it does help with the cost. Especially if you have a very sick pet or a pet injured in a accident.

Pet Health Insurance is a lot like the insurance for their human companions. If your pet is old or has a previously existing condition you may not be able to get pet health insurance for your pet. Pet insurance premiums are usually quite reasonable. They will typically cost you several hundred dollars a year. If the cost of your pet health insurance for a older pet is to high then it may not be worth the cost of the pet health insurance.

Some companies may offer pet health insurance but you have to pay the cost of the premium. If your employer does not offer pet health insurance try to get them to get it.

Sometimes as a pet owner, the only moral, ethical response to mother's nature is to do the right thing for your best friend. To provide the pet with the dignity and respect it deserves, I feel is one of God's Greatest Gifts. Suffering, lingering pain and agony, I find this inhumane and unjustifiable. I had a whippet for 20 years, my promise to him was the moment his quality of life changed, I would take measures to allow him to rest in peace versus selfishly stay here pained. It was hard, but it was the RIGHT thing to do. God Bless.
