Have You Had Grilled Corn
There is nothing better than grilled corn on the cob.
Have you ever had grilled corn on the cob?
Let me tell you a little bit about grilled corn on the cob. First of all you need to find it fresh in the grocery store or farmers market. The shucks on the corn need to be crisp and the silks underneath loose and not stuck to the corn. Your fresh corn should smell like fresh corn. You should pull back the shucks on the ears you are purchasing to make sure your corn is of the best quality possible. Its important that you get plump fresh kernels that shoot out juice if you press down on one with your finger nail.
Now here's where it gets important. To make the best grilled corn on the cob add one cup of Italian Dressing to a gallon of water and soak your corn in the shucks in the water that has the Italian Dressing added to it. Before you do this though you need to open up the corn shucks and remove all the silks from your corn. Pull the corn shucks back up over the corn and now your ready to soak your ears of corn in the Italian Dressing / Water bath. If you can soak your corn on the cob in the shucks at least four hours.
Its important that your grill be already heated on about medium heat before you place your corn in the shucks on the grill. Be sure that your grill is not to hot or you will end up with burned corn. If you find your corn is getting to hot and burning you can then wrap each cob of corn in tin foil and put it back on the grill. Corn on the Cob in the shucks should cook done on a medium heat grill in about a hour. If you wrap your corn on the cob in tin foil you want to grill it for a while on the grill to get a good grilled flavor before you do wrap the corn in tin foil.
Corn cooked this way is excellent served right on the cob with plenty of fresh butter and a handy shaker of ground sea salt. Grilled Corn on the Cob is excellent with almost any grilled meats. Try your grilled corn with various grilled meats to see what you like. I myself love grilled corn with grilled Italian Sausage. But it is also delicious with grilled chicken breast or grilled chicken thighs. Try it with various grilled meats to find your favorite.

If you have not yet had ground sea salt give it a try especially on grilled foods like grilled corn on the cob. Its much better than regular table salt and the taste is just wonderful. Its also much more nutritious than regular table salt.
Some people like to cook their corn on the cob in the shucks wrapped in tinfoil right from the start. You can try sprinkling a little bit of brown sugar on your corn in the shucks for a little added sweetness. When you cook it in the tin foil it steams your corn and you want to be sure not to over cook your corn on the cob.
If you have freshly grown basil you can try chopping up some fine and placing it inside the corn shucks for a delightful added flavor. Or you can puree fresh chopped basil and butter together in a food processor to make fresh basil butter which will be oh so delicious on fresh ears of grilled corn.
Have you ever heard of making Dixie Grilled Corn by spreading your corn with Dukes Mayonnaise and then grilling your corn. You'll find that corn grilled this way will have a delicious unique flavor that most people love. If you've never had grilled corn cooked this way give it a try.

After grilling plain, add butter and Tony Cachere's seasoning. Fabulous! Thanks for sharing about this delicious summer treat!
I have not tried grilling corn on the cob. But it made sense that it would taste delicious because mostly food that were cooked and wrapped with leaves taste great. I could remember rice cake (wrapped w/ banana leaves) & hanging rice (wrapped in coconut leaves).
