LaLaurie Mansion
Haunted House in New Orleans - Lalaurie Mansion
The Lalaurie Mansion in New Orleans
The haunted Lalaurie Mansion is one of New Orleans most well known Ghost Stories and one of the spookiest true stories you will ever read. The Lalaurie's moved into the house in 1832 and for a while everything seemed fine. The Lalaurie's were known to give great parties at their house that everyone wanted to attend. But then the neighbors started noticing strange things at the Lalaurie Mansion. The Lalaurie's would buy new slaves only to have the slave vanish and the Lalaurie's gave no information as to what happened to the slaves that would vanish.
The Lalaurie's had dozens of slaves that worked in the house and on the grounds of the house and soon neighbors saw Mrs Lalaurie beating the young slave girls and being very cruel to them. As time went by the neighbors began to spread tales about what was going on in the Lalaurie Mansion. And then one day their was a fire in the house and the fire fighters discovered a house of horrors in the attic of the house.
Strange medical experiments had been done on several slaves and some of the missing slaves were in the torture chamber the Lalaurie's had set up in the attic. The police were called but in the mean time the Lalaurie's had fled the city in their carriage and they were never seen in the city again. And from that moment on people reported ghosts and paranormal activity around the Lalaurie Mansion. And the stories of strange deaths and ghosts have continued over the years.

THE MYRTLES PLANTATION
The Myrtle's Plantation in St Francisville Louisiana is America's most haunted house. Many ghost hunters will swear to you that the Myrtle's Plantation House is simply infested with ghosts. The house has seen great tragedy over the years. One of the worst was the poisoning of the family by a female slave named Chloe. She did it thinking it would simply make the family sick but it killed the children and Chloe fled and she was captured and hung where she was hiding in the swamp a few days later.

Your theme goes with my new book, Dinosaur Haunt. I really like that picture of the wolf, Indian Chief, starry back ground and moon. Where come someone buy that painting. Is it a painting? Visit my site when you can.
I should have taken a picture of it while I was there.
But here's a link to one on flickr.com
Hello. Very interesting site. Thanks for going to the effort of creating it. However, the name of the surprising house at the end of the Alle' of oak trees is Oak Alley Plantation, not Oak Valley. There are many histories of this remarkable plantation house on the web. Sadly neglect and greed have destroyed many similar homes in the last 50 years or so.
Again. Thanks. Gregory Hubbard, Sanford, Maine
Oh, and as a general comment from someone who has run into his share of things that go bump in the night, as a result of my historic preservation work, not all are friendly, or like prying visitors. Some are quite hostile, although I've only run into one who was malevolent. It pays to leave them alone.
is it the really most hunted house in louisiana
We stayed at the myrtles a couple of years ago.We stayed in the Confederate soldiers room and I brought a yankee civil war hat that was handed down through my family thinking it would stir the rebel spirit up,but to no avail, although our photos showed some weird swirls and orbs in them.

I have heard this past week that Ardoynne Plantation just outside of Houma is haunted. Yet there's an old woman that lives there. A movie based on a Nora Robert's novel was filmed here.
