I bet all your life you have from time to time heard the statement, " You Are What You Eat ". And that really is a disturbing thought when you think about how much fat, sugar, and white flour are consumed every day. A lot of it is hidden in fast foods and ready to eat meals.
And now is the time to improve your daily eating habits and change the bad habits you have developed all your life. One of the key things you need to learn to do is to develop new eating habits that will greatly improve your health through your eating habits.
You must change and improve your daily eating habits or you will never be successful in trying to lose weight. You must learn to appropriately answer your hunger pains and you must learn to eat healthy or your doomed to failure. You must get away from inappropriate eating habits and do your own research so that you can learn to eat healthy.. One of the first things you need to know and understand are that you need to cut white bread out of your life and replace it with whole grain breads. You need to use brown rice instead of white rice and you need to start eating fresh fruits and vegetables. And you need to start steaming your vegetables and fish. In case you don't know steamed vegetables and fish are delicious.
If its sticky and sweet and made of sugar and saturated fats then you must only eat it on rare occasions. But how about a big bowl of fresh strawberries or orange slices. These you can eat all you want. Its very important to learn to eat the things that nature has provided naturally. If you've never tried eating a big juicy red apple then you have not yet lived. Try putting a can of peaches packed in their own juices, a teaspoon of peanut butter and a cup of crushed ice into your blender and you'll begin to understand that there are wonderful things you can eat and still lose weight. Its really not how much you eat as much as it is what you eat.
You need to learn to read labels and see exactly what you are eating. You may be surprised to learn how much sugar is included in the foods you eat everyday. All your life you have probably rewarded yourself with sweet treats. But what you have to do is retrain yourself to enjoy fruits as a treat. You can eat the fruits and enjoy them the way they are or make delicious treats from fresh fruits and a few other ingredients. Try taking a few blueberries, about a half cup of pineapple and a cup of crushed ice and blend it together in a blender for a delicious treat your sure to enjoy.
Try to eat more protein. Protein is good for you especially if your trying to lose weight and there are all kinds of wonderful ways you can cook chicken and fish that you probally never thought of. Try taking the bones out of chicken thighs and also remove the skin. Beat the chicken thighs flat and then roll the chicken thighs up with a filling of fine diced onion, green peppers, and a teaspoon of yogurt in each rolled up chicken thigh. Apply salt and pepper to the outside of your chicken thighs and either grill your rolled up chicken thighs or steam them. Either way they are delicious and with a serving of brown rice you have a great meal.
Or you can puree some fresh pineapple and cooked brown rice with a tablespoon of yogurt and use that to make delicious grilled chicken roll ups. Secure your rolled up chicken thighs with toothpicks and grill until done. I promise you its delicious. Its also packed with protein and nutrients and very good for you.
Or take tilipia filets and make delicious fish roll ups. To make your stuffing for the fish roll ups take broccoli and baby shrimp and place in the blender with a teaspoon of yogurt, salt and pepper and chop it up. Place a big spoonful on your tilipia filet and roll it up and secure with a tooth pick. Grill your fish roll ups until the fish is done and you'll be rewarded with a tasty treat.
One big thing a lot of people miss when trying to lose weight is they don't drink enough water. You should drink at least eight large glasses of water a day. One way to really enjoy water is to mix it up in a blender with crushed ice. Add a little fresh squeezed lemon juice to the water for flavor if you like.
Its also very important to learn healthy snacking. Try using peanut butter as a dip and dip carrot and celery sticks into it for a delicious healthy snack. You can use a tablespoon of peanut butter as your dip and carrots and celery taste delicious dipped into it.
One of the hardest things I ever had to do was learn to eat healthy but once you learn it your on your way to healthy eating habits and you should be able to lose weight and keep it off. You need to learn to use a lot of proteins, fresh fruits, vegetables, and brown rice in your daily food intake and you will find yourself losing weight and getting healthier.
Two things that can really help you with healthy weight loss are a heavy duty blender or food processor and a steamer with at least two baskets so that you can cook vegetables and meats at the same time. Try to learn everything you can about steaming fruits and vegetables and try to incorporate them into your daily meals. You can add items like sliced onion, cut up lemons and fresh herbs to your steamer water and infuse those delicious flavors into you steamed vegetables and meats.
