Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe For You
Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe
One year at the Florida Cracker Cafe while I was the Executive Chef there we made over 50.000 of these pies and sent them all over the world. And those were all mailed. I'm really not sure how many we sold by the piece in the restaurant but I know it was in the thousands.
I got the basics of this recipe from my Grandmother Hattie Propst and my Mother Virginia Walker. And guess what it will not be long until Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here and you really should consider making and serving this delicious pie this year. You could even make this pie and give it away as gifts. But it doesn't have to be Christmas or Thanksgiving to make this pie. You can make it anytime of the year.
To make your Chocolate Pecan Pie your going to need.
1. 4 Tablespoons Real Melted Butter.
2. 4 Large Eggs Well Beaten.
3. 3/4 Cup Light Brown Sugar.
4. 2 Tablespoons Self Rising Flour.
5. 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract.
6. 3/4 Cup Dark Corn Syrup.
7. 1 1/2 Cups Pecan Half's.
8. 1/2 Cup Mini Milk Chocolate Morsels.
9. 1 9" Unbaked Pie Crust.
Place all your ingredients 1-8 in a large bowl and mix well. Once mixed pour into your 9" unbaked pie shell and set on a baking pan in a 350 degree pre heated oven.
You want to bake for 50-60 minutes and then remove from oven. Serve while still warm and place a heaping tablespoon of cool whip on top of each slice of pie as you serve it.
If your going to be doing a lot of baking be sure to equip your oven with a heavy duty thermometer and hang it in the center of your oven. If you bake a lot you want to be sure that your oven dial is producing the temperature it is supposed to when you set the dial. Also be sure that you use a level to make sure that your oven is level. A lot of home ovens are way off on the oven dial and not many are level. If you have a thermometer inside the oven you can use it to adjust the oven dial to the temperature you want it at.
I really hope there is a Chocolate Pecan Pie in your future. This pie is oh so delicious.
