Baked Potato Soup is one of the best soups that you will ever have the privilege of eating. And if you top it with fresh chopped chives and crisp crumbled bacon you have a soup that people will not soon forget.
This is a hearty soup that is one of the best comfort soups there is. And no we don't use anything low or fat free in our baked potato soup. You want the flavors of this soup to be the best that the people trying it have ever had.
For Your Baked Potato Soup You Will Need.
1. Six Large Baked Potatoes cooked and scooped out of their shells.
2. One Quart Half And Half Cream.
3. Two Cups Chicken Broth.
4. One Teaspoon Ground White Pepper.
5. One Teaspoon Ground Sea Salt.
6. One Teaspoon Fresh Minced Garlic.
7. One Cup Sour Cream.
Place all of the above ingredients into your food processor and puree very smooth. Now pour out into a small stock pot and let it almost boil but not quite. Then turn down your temperature to a low simmer. Let your soup cook on a low simmer for 45 minutes stirring often to be sure your soup does not stick and burn.
You will also want fresh chopped chives and crisp crumbled bacon. When you get ready to serve your soup heat your soup bowls in the microwave and then place a serving of your Baked Potato Soup in the soup bowls. On top of your soup place fine chopped fresh chives and crumbled crisp bacon.
I guarantee you that you'll have a hearty soup that I truly believe is one of the best soups I have ever tasted. If your a big baked potato fan like me you just may think that this baked potato soup is one of if not the best soups that you will ever taste.
You will want the freshest chives possible and you will want lean bacon to cook and crumble up to go on your baked potato soup as a garnish. Some people like to add a big spoon full of sour cream on top of their bowl of baked potato soup. I like sour cream on top of mine.
This baked potato soup is a soup that you really can't go wrong with. If you need more baked potato soup than the recipe makes just double or triple the recipe. I like to serve corn bread with this soup as the flavors of the soup and the corn bread just seem to go together so well.
This soup is extremely good served in heated bowls but just use caution when serving the soup in the heated bowls. Be sure you serve the bowl of soup on a napkin on a saucer so people can move their soup around and enjoy their baked potato soup.
I like to serve the crumbled bacon , chopped chives , and the sour cream on the side so that people can add what they want to their own serving of the baked potato soup.
