Baked Oysters Recipe
Here's a delightfully delicious recipe for Baked Oysters. You can use small Pyrex Dishes to bake your oysters in or you can bake your oysters in oyster shells that you have scrubbed and washed well.
Or you can use cute little baking dishes like in the photo above and serve the baked oysters in the little dishes setting the dish with the baked oysters in it on a napkin on a large saucer and then set a dish of baked oysters down in front of each person telling each person the dish is hot to the touch.
If you like oysters you will love these baked oysters as they are oh so delicious. And a great thing for that special dinner party you've been planning.
For your recipe you will need.
1. 1/4 Pound Of Real Butter.
2. 1 Cup Fine Chopped Celery.
3. 1 Cup Fine Chopped Onion.
4. 1 Cup Fine Chopped Green Peppers.
5. 2 Pints of Oysters.
6. 6 Hard Boiled Eggs Grated.
7. 3 Cups Large Italian Bread Crumbs.
8. 1 Cup Chicken Broth.
9. Two Tablespoons Fresh Fine Chopped Parsley
You will need extra real butter and ground cayenne pepper to top each little dish with before you bake them.
Melt your butter in a pan over low heat and add your celery , onion , and bell peppers. Cook until tender. Add your oysters and half the oyster juice to the pan. Cut up any large oysters into smaller pieces. Cook about 5-6 minutes until the oysters start to curl on the edges.
Take off the heat and add your bread crumbs , grated eggs , rest of your oyster juice , and your cup of chicken broth and stir well. Put a big cooks spoon serving into each baking dish and pat down. Place a teaspoon of real butter and a sprinkle of ground cayenne pepper on top of each baking dish and bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree pre-heated oven. Serve at once. And people will wonder how you ever packed that much flavor into that little dish. Garnish with slices of fresh lemon slices and fresh parsley.

You can make a oyster casserole out of this recipe by spraying a 9" X 13" casserole dish with vegetable coating spray and then fill the casserole dish with the ingredients. This casserole is made all over North and South Carolina and people just love it. I know I do.
