Angelina Jolie first started modeling when she was only 14. She worked mainly in Los Angeles , New York , and London. During that same period of time she appeared in many musical videos for such people as Meatloaf and many other big name bands.

Jolie's career prospects began to pick up after she played Cornelia Wallace in the 1997 film George Wallace.

  In 1998 Angelina Jolie played supermodel Gia Carangi in the HBO Movie Gia. Many people think that was one of her best and most erotic roles ever. I myself would have to agree 100 percent. If you have never seen Gia and your a Angelina Jolie fan you should watch it to see a side of Jolie you may have missed until now. 

 In 2000 she appeared in her first summer blockbuster movie Gone In 60 Seconds. This was her first major film after Gia. At one point for a while after Gia Jolie stopped acting altogether because she said she had done her best performance ever in Gia and had nothing else to give. Luckily for all of us Angelina Jolie fans though she did come back after Gia and has since made many great films. 

 Her 2001 appearance as Laura Croft in Tomb Raider made her into a international super star and there is now not many places around the world where Angelina Jolie would not be instantly recognized.   Angelina Jolie first developed a major interest in Humanitarian work while filming Tomb Raider in Cambodia. She went on to meet with members of the US Congress more than 30 times in 2002 while she campaigned for social justice for the worlds under privileged children.

In 2005 she was awarded citizenship in the country of Cambodia for her tireless on going work there on the behalf of the children of Cambodia.

  Angelina Jolie's Tattoo's have also been the subject of much media attention and her body is watched closely to see when or if a new tattoo will appear. Jolie says that she will never stop getting tattoo's but she says she has become much more selective about where or if she will add a new tattoo. Incidentally she has had seven tattoos either covered up or removed.
